Turbo Clean – Alka brought to BC the first In-Floor Pool Cleaning System, called “Turbo Clean” through Alka’s affiliation with the Master Pool Guild. This was the first of many innovations that were to help make the pool experience much more exciting.

Ozone – Over 20 years ago when Ozone Sanitation was in its infancy in the pool industry, Alka Pool was pioneering and developing this opportunity. Ozone is now a mainstream and excellent method of pool sanitation.

Structural Freestanding Pool Construction – The very challenging landscapes in the Vancouver lower mainland and the desire from our clients to build in areas not before considered for pools, lead to Alka establishing and continuing to develop some exciting and unique pool structural formworks.  Alka is now a leading force in BC in the construction of structural freestanding pools.

Vanishing Edge – A Vanishing Edge Pool is certainly one of the most beautiful designs for a pool but it is also one of the most difficult to build. Alka has invested many years in designing Vanishing Edge shapes, finishes and calculating flow rates to make it all work.  Alka has the experience in detailed craftsmanship demanded by the precision needed to create the art of water spilling over a long wall.

Hydraulics – The beauty of an Alka pool goes beyond skin deep.  While the style and design of your pool is of great importance the efficiency of your pool's circulation system (hydraulics) is of equal importance.  Establishing good hydraulics has always been a critical part of Alka’s success. Pipe, pump, filter and heater types and sizes are key to the performance and energy efficiency of your pool.

Safety – The safety of our clients has always been essential to Alka. We were the first to establish contrasting tile on the step edges for safety and were recognized for our innovation and concern for safety with the prestigious J. Renn Olenn Safe Design Award in 1981. From the depth, length, shape and slope of pool for safe diving areas to dual main drains for anti-entrapment to non-slip finishes, Alka continues to not only follow industry standards set by the Pool and Hot Tub Council of Canada and APSP associations but exceed them. Safety doesn't have to compromise style.

Safety Cover – Alka installed the very first Aquamatic Automatic Safety Cover some 30 years ago.
